Which is the best PC strategy game (RTS) based on Lord of The Rings?

Q: I've played two titles in the Total War series (Shogun 2 Total War and Napoleon Total War) and love that kind of RTS game for the PC.
I know there probably will be games like these based on Lord of the Rings, which is the best?

A: Well basically you have a choice of 2 games, LOTR Battle for middle earth 1 or LOTR Battle for middle earth 2. They are both RTS's however the reason you shouldn't instantly get the second one is because they are actually quite different. Battle for middle earth 1 (BFME1) has specific bases that you build structures in (eg barracks for training soldiers)

i havent really play LTR but Age of Empires is really good :) try it out
