Does my first chapter have too much detail in it? Re asking.?
Q: My friends say it does, but I think it has too little detail. Please help me.
Chapter one

A: Well, in my creative writing seminar class, we learned how when you start out writing, you should have as much detail as you can, but as you write more and become a better writer, you should learn how to weed out unnecessary detail. In good writing, every word is there for a purpose. Unless blue rug has meaning, don't say "blue rug". Get it?
No your story does not have too much information, I actually think it is very cool. I would defiantly read the story if you publish it.
I don't think it has to much detail at all! As a writer you're supposed to supply the reader with an exact account of what they should be picturing. I think you're good.
